Oh yeah, there should be loads more games in general that should let you set up a proper camp if you're stranded from town.Β

Errrr.... due to the fact that when you start the game you have no coins to hire a pawn LVL " infinite " then tell me ::
Β Β HOW DA HECK YOU WAS ABLE TO HIRE ONE OF THEM ????
ohhh.... due to the hack , perhaps ??

I dunno. Maybe because she was on my PSN friends list? Actually, I don't remember the game limiting who I could hire like, at all but it's been a long time at this point. I never looked too deep into the hiring system beyond "Oh, okay it's letting me do this" so hacking it is waaaay over my head.

I'm ok with fan art and cameos and stuff like that so long as I'm credited for my characters and maybe toss a link in to my DA or my site. If you're on PS3, by the way, my Eishi pawn should still be available on there.

I didn't hang onto Rook very long either. I liked using ones from my friends more. Thanks for enjoying my strips so much!

Never truly bothered with the pawns banter too much. I play Dinasty Warriors so I'm used to it.

ThreeTwo In reply to Sorosoro [2014-05-17 16:57:17 +0000 UTC]
I think it's only really grating because they're telling you blindingly obvious things like "There are things in boxes" and "falling off things hurts." It's nice when they tell you enemy weaknesses. Except in the post-game when some of them tell you the wrong weakness because the old version of whatever monster used to be.

Sorosoro In reply to ThreeTwo [2014-05-17 19:15:46 +0000 UTC]
True. But sometimes they give off timeless pearls like "We could not have possibly been beaten by that" after beating a cursed Dragon and such.

Now that I've played it and am doing Dark Souls now, I kinda feel like Dragon's Dogma is a happy medium between it and Dragon Age.

Sorosoro In reply to ThreeTwo [2014-05-19 15:37:34 +0000 UTC]
Dark Souls is fun although it has a very steep learning curve. I have never played a Dragon Age game. Are they any good?
π: 0 β©: 1
ThreeTwo In reply to Sorosoro [2014-05-19 20:17:22 +0000 UTC]
1 was, I only played the demo of 2 but haven't played the "real" game. It's kinda like Mass Effect in that I mainly like it for the character interactions. I always laugh when they have the mute hero answer a dialogue choice and a companion says "Good idea!" to the thing they couldn't hear.

Sorosoro In reply to ThreeTwo [2014-05-19 23:18:52 +0000 UTC]
I see. To is a LOT easier than Dark Souls II I tell ya and a hint: Maces are OP. I see then. Never played Mass Effect but ok. Which Dragon Age do you reccomend me to get, and another one to stay away from?

ThreeTwo In reply to Sorosoro [2014-05-20 01:39:18 +0000 UTC]
Well, there's only 2 so far, so I'd try 1 and if you really really like the setting, maybe grab 2. It's a bit more limited than the first in that you're pretty much fixed in one role rather than having a few different starting options based on class/race that enter the main plot from different angles.

Heinrich-Konig [2014-04-28 10:30:21 +0000 UTC]
And this is why I always build my character to go solo XD
It's kinda weird, the aspect which they pushed the most is the worst aspect :/ I don't even think the lack of fast travel would be that bad if the pawns didn't constantly blabber about the same shit. If they didn't have the pawns, then they could have done some more stuff with the classes and combat, like allowing you to aim throwing items better, or giving more reliable defensive options to the classes like rolling and evasion.
Still, I see why they did it, and I respect their decision to stick with it, even if it didn't succeed. Besides that, I can find enjoyment in the fact each encounter is entirely organic, allowing a wide variety of options and yet never forcing you to go with one. The layout of the world feels very grounded, you can understand how the dungeons and caverns fit into the world and why certain monsters moved in, as well as what the former inhabitants were doing before they left. On top of all that, the soundtrack's fucking awesome, the combat feels weighty and satisfying, and the level of character customisation on offer is astounding (when you can make your character a sweet little old black lady as easily as you can make them Kamina from Gurren Lagann, you know you've got a good customisation system).
Personally, I'd say it's one of my favourite games ever, but I know it's far from perfect, and I don't resent anyone for their opinions on it. At the end of the day though, you can't say they didn't put any effort in. I mean seriously, you can bring down a griffin by getting all your allies to doggy-pile it, and that's NOT a scripted event!
So uhh...
That's my piece!

ThreeTwo In reply to Heinrich-Konig [2014-04-29 11:16:07 +0000 UTC]
Dogpiling the griffin in the demo was probably one of the major things that tipped me toward buying it eventually, the other being my friend, Dani's going on about how awesome it was for a while. So months after everyone else had stopped playing, it was time to strike.

It's always nice to know you can sling a pawn over your shoulder and give them a big toss off a cliff and they won't even get mad.

I've fed them to the brine before out of anger. Its nice that they can't hold a grudge. Though... I only have done that to the game generated Pawns.

Oh, it works on other players' pawns too. I'm revolver_knight on there if you want to borrow Eishi. Haven't played in months though.

krimsonfury In reply to ThreeTwo [2014-02-20 00:07:45 +0000 UTC]
Ok, but I only have two problems with that that really suck for me. 1, I only have the vanilla Dragon's Dogma (not Dark Arisen). 2, I don't even know which console you play. I only happened upon your comic due to finally getting into this game thanks to a friend and deciding to see what I can find on here.
As soon as I get Dark Arisen, I'll gladly take Eishi for a spin. Right now I'm trying to complete the game so I can start writing fan fictions.
