Contest Submission forContest Theme: Summer
It took me almost as much effort to think of a unique aspect of summer as it did trying out new techniques in this piece. The aspect I used for this one is the Day of the Dead in Japan. I forgot the japanese name for it but it takes place in the lunar calender's July (now actually) and people sends the visiting spirits back to the after world at the end of the festival days via little boats with lanterns in them.
Don't be mistaken, TsunaxUni is a cute coupling, but it is not my favorite. I like BL better than hetero pairings but it seems to me that there wasn't enough mourning for Uni in the manga, so I did this in memories of a brave little girl who just appeared for a frigging week in the storyline and got killed. And then everyone elses are all like 'oh phew, thank god she killed herself and saved the world... okay, let's pretend nothing happened and continue life.'
Yea, kinda pisses me of that the ONLY girl with GODLY powers remotely close to the male characters in the manga died in such a ... pathetic way. -w-; And was soon forgotten. By even Reborn...

Yea, except I was focusing so much on this I didn't do the lineart properly. If I did it would've been much better. But now I'm too lazy to re-do it. The lighting took too much out of me xD

I certainly think this will haunt Tsunayoshi even longer than the fact that he killed a person, but that two someones gave their lives for him and his friends to go home. I also think part of it might be because in their time, Uni and Gamma are still around even if she is only 2. Still, this is beautiful and breathtaking.

I think what Uni did made her got erased from existence, thought I honestly thought Gamma was an irresponsible, romantic fool to jump in unnecessarily with Uni like that. Yea, it makes the girl feel better, but he sort of left the Gesso family hanging with no leader with his death. Hm, all in the name of love I suppose... TwT
