I randomly decided to draw dot Near in this loud checker ensemble. He makes it work, somehow! XD;Near is from the anime/manga Death Note, and belongs to Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.

This is so adorable, and seems so cool with it. Then again, Near is a pillar of confidence, so it isn't that far fetched.

I don't think a whole lot of people liked Near on a personal level, and the SPK only seemed to respect him as their leader, none them ever actually showed any since of affection for him...except maybe when Rester decided to ride on the plane with Near, but then again Near did ask him to, and we all know that Near doesn't 'ask'.

LOL; Rester seemed more exasperated than anything in the scene where Near told him to come back to fly with him, but didn't seem too irritated duringg the scene they were on the plane in. I don't know. Near really didn't know anybody closely except Mello in the canon, and that wasn't exactly a fond relationship.

Yeah, but we still love the pics with one of the SPK members throwing a blanket over Near after he's fallen asleep on the floor with all his toys, right?
I recently found a picture with Rester holding a cell phone to Near's ear. Now, I know that Rester is a big guy (6'3", 185 lbs), but his hand could easily hold Near's entire head! The guy is tiny!

LOL--yeah, I noticed that Near doesn't even hold the phone for himself most of the time. It's one of the reasons I believe he's GOT to be co-dependent at least to some degree. I think it's cute in a way; re-enforces the childishness.
That makes Rester one foot and three inches taller than Near.

XD LOL...yeah, I find Near's younger-than-he-appears tendencies quite amusing. They're handy for some plots, too.
It's a matter of comparing a big guy with a little guy--there's no "normal sized" person in the middle to draw a middle ground, and the two extremes look really extreme next to each other!

Yeah, the fact that Near always looks like a kid can give him an advantage in some situations and disadvantage in others. I don't think I've ever once seen him use his appearance as an advantage, in a fan fiction or otherwise, however. Maybe he should try.
