hopefully I will get used to HEADs after first page finish-tho that will take time cos I don't have it 'kitted' so I can go with only threads I have at home, plus it's really a 'far side' project, I have my priorities

I'm sure a stitching superhero like you gets used to it quite quickly. 
And of course one needs to have some stitching priorities, even though that usually means one might end up with looooots of unfinished works laying here and there...

The effort is truly worth it!
I've had experiences stitching black/dark colors on black, cream colors on cream, etc. There comes a point where I'd question, am I doing it right? hahaha.

how well I know the feeling! stitching utterly dark blue on black 25ct fabric creamy on cream I'm doing right now! and last time I REALLY was questioning my sanity was on the weekend, when I started a HEAD pattern 1over1 on 27ct fabric-like if I'm not gonna get cross-eyed then never

Oh god! 1x1 on 27ct!?! You are insane! Hahaha. But I sure the end result is pretty.
I can't even work when the fabric goes over 14ct since I tend to do 1x1 and I hate counting for 2x2.
