Description

Giant Ram

  • Scientific name: Titanovis titanis

  • Other names: Giant sheep

  • Ancestor: Bighorn

  • Diet: Grass, leaves, shrubs

  • Habitat and range: Western North American mountains

Following the order for the extinction of deer as an agricultural pest in the mid 79th century, things got messy quick. A new giant herbivore was needed. In North America, it was the bighorn sheep that speciated to fill these roles. Largest of them is the Giant Ram. As simple as the name is, it is certainly accurate; Giant Rams are the size of a well-bred Arabian Horse. Honestly, their size is the most interesting thing about them, as almost every other detail is stock-standard for a wild sheep. They live in herds dominated by an alpha male, the males fight for females with their horns, really the only difference is the Giant Ram's size makes it unable to achieve the acrobatic feats of their ancestors. While they are still very nimble, they are also a tad too large for prime mountain-climbing. Their habitat is less the rocky shelves of their fore bearers, but the gentler grassy slopes of less harsh mountains.
