Actually, Robb's not that good at sparring. Jon says to his uncle that he [jon] is better with a sword but robb is better with a lance.

Wasn't Theon at the front of Robb's Honor Guard? The people keeping Robb alive in the Vanguard. I think it stands to reason that he's a better fighter. Ah well. It's a nice picture anyways.

I guess he was mostly there because Robb is more important and shouldn't be out there alone. Β I just thought that when Theon prefers archery so much, he probably isn't the best with sword fighting, but of course we don't actually know anything about it. ^^

Well, even though Theon specialises in archery (and is probably one of the best in the series)... he was one of the first pople to charge in Robb's vanguard, was at the front of Robb's honor guard with the Smalljon, he was handpicked by the Blackfish as an outrider and fought where the fighting was thickest. In the books Robb spars equally with Joffrey at Winterfell and only actually starts using real swords in his training after Ned Stark leaves. Anywas, I really do like this picture.

In the books Theon is also quite a bit older, so you could assume he's better at almost everything. In the TV series those differences are not thaaat much a thing though.

That's true. I just feel like they made Theon a lot weaker than he was in the books, I mean... the guy has absolutely nothing going for him in the show. Where as in the books, he's good looking, a ladies man, a skilled archer, a good fighter and occasionally clever.

Yeah, he was played a lot for laughs in the show. Maybe they thought people would feel more sympathy for him if he were more pathetic? Not that it worked, obviously...

I suppose, although I sympathized with him less. He's a jerk in both the show and the books, but in the show he offers nothing back. Further more, in the show we're lead to believe that the Starks loved and cared about him. That the Starks were his true family and that he was 100% in the wrong for betraying them. Where as in the books, it's a lot more ambiguous (he has people who love and care about him in the North and the Iron Islands).
Anyways, again... I like it a lot.
