Description The red-headed cardinal beetle is bright red; in that way it warns predators that it is toxic.

Hey! I was picking those off my lillies today!! I was going to eat them! Good thing I know they're toxic now!! Nice close up, can see a lot of detail. I like the peeping noises they make.

icute is something else, but i like it very much. when i try to make a photo of an insect it directly gets very unsharp. what camera do you have? :

A 350d. But what's way more important, these photos are made with a macrolens.

i dont know what a macrolens is, but does that mean that a 5.0 megapixel camera is not enough?

Well.......a macro lens is lens, especially made for macro But I've seen pretty decent insect shots made with compact camera's, too....
Of course a macro lens produces better quality, but even with a compact you should be able to make a sharp close up.
