D'aw. My parents have these at their home here in Texas. They lay their eggs on the gravel driveway and sometimes we have to save them from the trucks going through. Silly little things,

Cute! This reminds me of a female killdeer that makes her nest near the entrance of my street every summer, and we're used to seeing her run around.

Our local hardware store had a family of a close relative of these birds nest in their gravel parking lot. Killdeer are our version of these lively birds. The mother plays wounded and draws a predator away from the nest then flies off to play wounded farther away. The eggs are about the same color as gravel and are hard to spot if you don't know they are there. Glad to say the hardware babies hatched out safely.

Suuuuuuper cute!!!
How did you capture that??
Live they in front of your window or were you in a hide?

He was using a lens with a huge focal length (read: telescope), allowing him to zoom in from a large distance.

her eyes say so much XD although, probably nothing that she's actually thinking. they are just very cartoon-ish.

You keep doing the impossible: showing the natural world, which, of course, has been photographed for many decades before, in an entirely new light. Really excellent stuff!
