Description During my 'frog study' frogs made faces like this several times.
It was hard not to laugh out loud, but seriously, does anyone know what this behaviour means..?

My amphibians all make that face when swallowing. Apparently the eyes help push the food down their throat.

Amphibians sink their eyes into their skulls to help them push food down their esophagus to the stomach. Yes, the eyes help them swallow food. This could be what you're seeing, or it could be something different. I can't be sure.

I know this because I have a toad as a pet. She's in my gallery. Sadly, the smaller one died due to parasites.

He might have just eaten something. It is hard for frogs to swallow as easy as we do. So they can push their eyes down and it helps them swallow what is in their mouth a bit easier. It kinda pushes it farther back on their tongue. Frogs are pretty cool...I love them.

It looks like he's looking at his reflection. What kind of frog is that its really pretty. I've never seen one like that before and i've seen lots of frogs.

Depends, sometimes they sense the vibrations of prey or friend underneath...other times its to clean their eyes, and even more times its to loosen up their face muscles, ready for food or to just get a piece they haven't digested yet

hahahha no worries, had a thing for toads...which did the same thing all the time, had 3 pet ones. Frogs are cool, but toads are totally chilled they sit in your hands and stare at you or pull faces
