this is an extremely beautiful photo, nature at her best.
i am neither photographer or artist, but have a thought
which i think might transform this excellent photo into
an exquisite work of art.
have you ever heard of the "golden ratio" or "golden mean"?

my thought is to leave the photo its original height, but to crop
it to bring the golden ratio into play, by trying it two different ways.
try cropping it by approximately 25% of its width, to bring the tree
off center and to change the ratios of the photo into the general
dimensions of a "double door". perform this from each of the two
sides saving each one along with the original. compare. i would
bet that you like the two new versions better than the original,
even though each is one fourth narrower. each of the narrower
versions will be slightly different in their distancing of the background.
one should be surperior to the other i would think, probably the one
with the left cropped off, as the other side has more depth.
if you do this, please post the results. i'll put a "watch" on you, so
i'll know if you do it. thanks for considering this. i think we would
all find it educational...

Lovely colours ... and the fog, it adds a lot to the atmosphere of this shot. Actually, it creates the atmosphere ...

This is a Beech (fagus), probably american, so Fagus americana
awesome trees they are

This is one of the many reasons why I love trees. They are beautiful-not just their wonderful colorful leaves-but their bark is expressive and lovely as well.
