I had never seen a white poppy before and the contrast of the totally white flower with the almost ridiculously colored background makes it look like a Flower-that-isn't-Painted-yet....Strangely beautiful.....

"tabula rasa" is certainly the best word for this beauty. I must echo everyone in saying that it looks so unreal, almost like tissue paper crumpled and stuck on the stem. And that there's so many bright colors in the background, it really does give off the impression of not being painted yet! Beautiful capture!

Latin. It means blank slate, referring to the idea that a human being is born 'blankly' waiting to be described and shaped by experiences in the outside world. (nurture versus nature). This flower strongly made me think of this concept...as if it's born, waiting to be colored by it's environment...
