Description A port of a beautiful Reuben VS by akka [link]
You will need the pixmap engine and mist engine.
I hope you like it

Emerald theme:

After a request from a user, I added another image panel as shown on the screenshot.
To use this panel, open Reuben/gtk-2.0/gtkrc and uncomment include "panel-image.rc" and add a comment on include "panel-rc"

The background color of side pane in gedit has been fixed.

I don't use linux anymore so I don't have them but you can get [link] and just colour them to your liking.

regarding the volume applet fix on the gnome-panel, was it easy to fix? the reason why i'm asking is because there is a theme that has very recently been posted on gnome-look that has the same problem, and i haven't a clue how to go about rectifying it. the theme is using the clearlooks engine, but using pixmaps to draw the background of the panel and the applications.
if its a really easy fix, then would you mind saying how i would fix it? maybe the fix is different for different themes, i don't know. sorry to ask .

it doesn't have a panel.rc. so what little there is about the panel is only contained within the gtkrc. and the part that does mention the panel doesn't seem to do anything at all.

maybe a bug within gtk itself or something.

its ok - thanks for having a look at the problem for me anyway . i think its probably more than likely some sort of bug in gtk because lots of themes seem to suffer from it.

i've been having a look at the problem since i asked you, and i'm still none the wiser as to the cause of the problem. 90% of theming is still greek to me . i'm getting there, but slowly. it would be nice if there was more plentiful and much better documentation around for themers. but sadly, documentation is think on the ground. there's only those pages at [link] that i know of.

I found a problem, and also the solution.

Using the custom gnome-panel or panel with bg image makes other GTK widgets with the same background, which is not wanted (for example, sidebar panel on Gedit).

What causes this is the line:

widget_class "*Panel*" style "panelbg"

on panel.rc and panel-image.rc, line 15

I was unable to find the exact widget name to the gnome panel alone, but removing the line on both files makes the panel with custom background and fixes the bugs on most apps.

Maybe you can check this and fix on the package file.

I try this but while it works on gnome-panel, It doesn't works on xfce-panel. It causes the wrong color background on the applets. I wish they are compatible. It will make it easy for us pixmap themers.

Yes, soon. You can get a background at [link] but not the icons. I can send the icons (mixed with j3cons icons) to you by email if you like.
