So anyway, here's another thing I made in my drawing class, it was a still life of a trash CAN, and a bed PAN, and a garden HOSE, and some rubber flooring entranceway ROLLS... and some other stuff like a gas can and a saw and broom and I don't know what I was just doing or why but let's pretend that didn't just happen and move on. My fashionable late and barely apparent point in all this is that this one is special. This drawing is more special to me because it was it pretty much the point where the teacher stopped hating everything about my work and thus my personage. In that class for the first half of the semester one of my main problems was my crippling fear of starting a project, a product of the fear of messing up a proportion of a main object and therefore the entire piece. In this one I spent almost an entire day trying to get the trash can just right, making a needlessly complex process of which I took several pictures as I worked on it. In the final rush to finish the piece the teacher came in while I was working at one point and said that my trash can was in the top percentage of trash cans.
So obviously my art teacher continued talking about the piece and what I needed to do to finish it but as soon as she finished the previous statement I was already off in the other half of the room doing backflips and freaking out like some giddy schoolgirl.
So yea, I guess I like how this drawing/sketch/shut up 'bout'cha terms Im trying to have an art over here/thing turned out, but more importantly, I like much more how the reception of this one made me squee.
Why yes I am biased, it is a beautiful feeling
