Summer: *walks over to Beno* Hey, brother.. What's going on?

Beno: I wanted to talk to you about something.

Summer: What's it about?

Beno: *sighs* It's about Douglas.. When I introduced Brandon to our railway friends, Douglas reversed very quickly and hid in the sheds. But he had this look of frustration and anger.

Summer: *sighs* His old crew told me about an incident that happened before the invasion of Shang Fu.

Beno: They must've had a rough meeting, then...

Summer: Yeah.. I tried asking Douglas, but he quickly dismissed it and said that he refused to talk about it. It was only when I met his old driver did I find out the truth..

Beno: Brandon told me about that incident too during his confession. He said to me that he had a feeling Douglas was gonna hate him for what happened. I told him that we would convince Douglas that he had changed for the better. Still, Douglas would leave immediately whenever Brandon would arrive to say hello.

Summer: As much as I hate saying this, Douglas may never fully forgive him for all that happened.. Given Douglas's history involving war, I can only assume it triggered an episode from his past.

Beno: Even if Douglas never fully forgives Brandon, he should at least give him a chance.

Summer: Knowing Douglas, I'm already certain he'll disagree for a bit until finally giving in. Douglas is one of those that if you do something that causes a moment from their past to return, you have to work extremely hard to regain their trust or at the very least, a second chance. I do hope Douglas can give Brandon a second chance.

Beno: Me too, sis.. The war's been over for a few months now, but some of the emotional scars still remain..

Yeah.. Douglas is an engine that you have to work hard to earn their trust, which is even harder if you do something to really make them upset. By then, you can only hope that they give you a second chance.
