Bonesaw is a character from the web serial Worm, created by Wildbow, a free online story which I'd suggest to any fan of the superhero genre.

Bonesaw is a young amoral girl, aged 12 at the start of the story, whose superhuman abilities make her an unparalleled expert in biological, anatomical, and physiological sciences. She has made numerous alterations to her own body, being able to dispense poisons from vents in her body and rendering herself extremely hard to kill, surviving both being stabbed in the heart and being cut in half at the waist with little trouble.

The more terrifying aspect of her power comes in to play when she has access to other superhumans. An expert in neuroanatomy, she enslaved captured superhumans and modified their abilities, removing control of their own powers just as she did their bodies. She has a limited ability to raise the dead, which she used to produce her "zombies", although they need steady maintenance to stay operational. Being captured by Bonesaw truly captures the sense of the saying "There are fates worse than death".

She's a member of the group of roaming, deranged super powered killers known as the Slaughterhouse Nine, being the youngest member and the protege of Jack Slash , who encourages her to view her dreadful creations as "art" . She has used her power to help the rest of the humanoid Nine members, sheathing their vital organs and major arteries in a protective sub dermal mesh, with wire reinforcement put into the skeletons to avoid broken bones.

I also just want to say, the fact that later on in the story Wildbow was able to make me feel sympathy for Bonesaw is a testament to his skill as an author lol
