---bad description! bad!---This isn't meant to be hopeless, by any means.. it's just loneliness, and trying to find solace.
I have two versions of this, one with nothing but black, dark dark grey and white...and then this one. I chose to make the background a light grey in this one because it's easier to look at on a computer screen.
edit: forgot to mention, she's wading in water here. She's actually quite tall.

It is quite personal, especially when you're in school. You're scared that people might ridicule you, just because you're not "happy" or "peppy".

So many parts of this piece appeal to me.
The NOSE, the lines of the hair, the crows and the contorted tree, and most of all, the lifeless eyes.
I think leaving out the outline of the water was a nice effect. It kind of makes things more eerie, more desolate. [In my opinion.]
But I really do like this.
