Great texture tutorial, I think this one of the best one out there. I actually almost freaked, when I realized I never bookmarked this page...lol

But a quick use of the search feature did the trick.

Ooh, nice tut

I usually just slap some texture on my pics when I hit Background Angst, but I don't really know what I'm doing at all >_>
So yeah, I definitely found this useful! That ragged paper edge thingy looks really neat

I've been wondering how to best do backgrounds for otherwise pin-up pictures...! Now I have a plan... muaha!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thundercake In reply to pixieface [2008-07-10 06:58:51 +0000 UTC]

Nothing wrong with a pin-up.. that's like 50% of what I do.. hehe

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pixieface In reply to thundercake [2008-07-10 07:06:45 +0000 UTC]

I'm trying to add backgrounds to my stuff at the moment. I'm thinking of pimping my portfolio out to this fantasy-rpg-making company... they're kinda small, so they can't get THAT many random art offers... but I wanna update the ol' portfolio before I try. So working on very time-consuming things that, apparently, I only feel like doing at 1am. Sigh.

I'll get back to doing fun things later, I'm sure. :3

I'm stuffing my portfolio to the brim for similar reasons. I keep changing my style, my portfolio is horribly inconsistent >.<

You know, I liked this tutorial a lot. It's odd, because I usually end up with long and complicated lists of things to do, ways to set things, and different methods of texturing/coloring. However, this tutorial was short, sweet, and very easy to follow. Have you made tutorials before?
