Description
After the heated exchange with Shujaa and Chiku Mzuri and Nzuri were forced to endure that morning, the two sisters now sat quietly munching on a gazelle leg for lunch. The den was empty all except for Uzani who was sleeping in her corner of the den. Shujaa had mentioned something about going out and finding that leopard who hurt his sister, so he was away doing that and Tiifu had left to find Kion to discuss this situation further. Mzuri didn't really see what all the fuss was about it was Uzani who should've watched where she was going and getting herself wounded was all her own fault. Mzuri didn't see what the big fuss she was about as long as she wasn't in trouble that's all she cared about. Suddenly she felt Nzuri poke her in the side as Mzuri continued to munch on her lunch and ignored Nzuri for as long as possible.

Nzuri: "Um... Mzuri you should probably stop eating for a moment and look up."

Mzuri: "UGH! For Mufasa's sake, Nzuri! What do you want now?!"

Nzuri: "It's not what I want, Mzuri. It's what they want..."

Nzuri points with her paw and as Mzuri's gaze follows and her eyes go round as she sees that Chiku is walking into the den with her mother, Queen Kiara to her left and they weren't alone. Nzuri and Mzuri's mother, Zuri was on Chiku's right and though the queen had a look of disappointment on her face while Chiku carried a cold look in her deep green eyes it was Zuri whose anger really showed as her eyes never left either of her daughters.

Nzuri tries to give her mother an innocent big grin, but it wasn't working as her deadly glare never left her eyes and the smile faded just as fast as she let out a hefty sigh.

Kiara: "Ladies. We would like a word with you two and it can't wait."

Mzuri: "Oh great. Now Chiku is tattling on us!? We were just finishing our lunch is all!"

Zuri: "Mzuri! When the queen asks you to do something you listen and she's not the only one who needs to speak with you and your sister. I also need to speak with the two of you as well."

Kiara: "Your meal can wait you two." Kiara added more calm but still firm like their mother who was angry as a hippo with a hernia. "We've come to speak about the leopard attack that happened this morning."

Mzuri: (Grumbles) "Not this again..."

Zuri glares down at her daughter as Mzuri shrinks submissively under her piercing glare.

Zuri: "I think you both owe not just me but Queen Kiara as well as Kion and Tiifu an explanation as to why you thought attracting that wondering leopard into the heart of the Pride Lands was a good idea!"

Nzuri's ears drooped as her gaze shifts to the nest where Uzani lay she sees that Uzani is waking up and Chiku goes over to her cousin to check and see how she's doing.

Kiara: "You both were born here in the Pride Lands should know better that when a wandering through our homelands you stay quiet and downwind out of their line of scent. It's one of the first things all cubs in the Pride Lands are taught from the time they can walk."

Zuri: "Have I taught you girls nothing?!"

Mzuri had an annoyed look on her face she certainly didn't like being hammered with question after question.

Mzuri: "It was Uzani's own fault, Mom! She should have been watching where she was going. It's not my responsibility to know where she is at all times. I'm also most certainly not her keeper nor am I going to start either."

Nzuri: "Actually Mom... Luring the leopard was Mzuri's idea. It was just a stupid game she thought would be fun and we'd run back to Pride Rock and then it came out and saw the four of us. Shujaa could've been hurt but Uzani jumped in and saved her brother's life but in the end, she ended up getting up severely hurt instead." Nzuri turned to Uzani who was resting in her nest the emotion in her light violet eyes was real and true. "Just know I'm sorry for running away like a little coward if I was more of a brave lion, I would've done all I could to protect you."

Chiku: "You should be counting your lucky stars that my Uncle Kion was nearby and was able to rescue Uzani or my cousin wouldn't even be here right now because of both your stupidity and reckless choices!"

Nzuri: "I am very sorry though, Chiku. For my part in it all."

Chiku: "Oh I hear you, Nzuri but it's going to take a lot more than a simple "I'm sorry" to make up for what you two have done."

Mzuri: "Um... What does she mean by that?"

Zuri: "Part of your punishment. You both are going to be helping Uzani and tending to her every need while she's healing."

Mzuri: "WHAT!?"

Kiara: "That's right. I've already discussed this idea with your mother as well as Uzani's parents and you will be helping her with whatever she needs, helping Rafiki and Makini sort out her herbs changing Uzani's leaf wraps once every day and night and bringing her food when she needs it. That sort of thing."

Zuri: "And the times you aren't helping you are both confined to the den until further notice. No more adventures until you both show me you two are responsible enough never to pull a dimwitted move like that ever again. ARE WE CLEAR?"

Zuri observed both her daughters with a cold stare as Nzuri stood tall and proud and nodded in understanding while Mzuri sulked miserably shooting daggers in her sister's direction for "ratting her out" whatever the future brought for the two sisters Nzuri only hoped this crack in the road didn't destroy their relationship forever.
