Hi everyone^^ This time it's Serah's time^^Must say that I really love this work in particular because I made it while I was waiting the results of my test (see the journal for more info) and I was very nervous. But drawing has always managed to calm me down and somehow even this time it worked because when I was drawing Serah I didn't think to the test and my mind took a break^^
Anyway, seems that I'm doomed to struggle with very tiny references because I've almost become blind again, but it was worth it! I think that this is the most beautiful work I've ever done and I'm very proud of it. I know that I have to improve A LOT and I will do my best to get better and better, but until now, I'm very satisfied^^ So, stuff I used: 3H, 2H, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B both mechanical and normal pencils, kneaded eraser, tortillions and tissues. really nice job, i have a hard time drawing lips, also if a character has a lot of hair, for example i tried drawing lightning, and i got the hair right but it took a lot of erasing, also happened with my drawing of serah, but really nice job, the shading is really well done

The only thing I could critique is, in my opinion, the arm that looks a bit too thin compared to the head (or perhaps it's the head that is slightly too big, I'm not really sure).

This picture is absolutely amazing and I think you captured the character really well!
The things I like are probably the shape of the body is perfect and the way you shaded it amazes me. You did really well in capturing the emotion in her facial features and just from this picture I can tell she must be quite stubborn at times. The detail in the hair also caught my attention. The light and dark in the hair really made every strand stand out.
Some things I think you could improve is just one thing. I think you should make the hair a little thicker or taller and a little farther back. it seemed like the hair is moved too foreward on the face.
But other than that, it's beautiful! Keep up the good work! <3

Serah. One of my favorite characters.
I'm from the Golden Critique Club, please take this comment with a pinch of salt.
Basically, what I admire in this picture is the realistic and leaned-to-perfection shading. To be honest, these are one of the staples of pencil art.
The shadowing, I also praise, but I think the amount of detail you put in Serah is a bit lacking. You should put more shades on her clothes and add more streaks and lines to her hair. Her braid (or whatever you call that) lacks waves as you see it in original CG. You should lightly erase the middle parts of it to make it look shiny, though. ^.^
The interpretation found in her eyes, I also admire. But the only problem, as I said, is her hair. Serah's hair should have more streaks and lines and I have to say that your Serah's hair looks to conjested and uh..fat? Where I mean it is in the fringe part.

Yes, it helps, and I thank you for that because, for how much it can be beautiful and rewarding to receive such beautiful comments, critiques, when they are polite, competent and well done as yours and other's, are the most helpful and useful. I know there are so many things that I still have to learn about pencils drawing and I am very determinate in improving my technique as much as I can. I love this drawing! you have to know that I don't have a clue who Serah is,, but I can comment upon your drawing!
The shadows are done almost perfectly, I especially like the white line on the right cheek. most people forget such details. I also like the hair, tangerinelemons said that it won't be like this when it is pulled into a ponytail, that's true, but the separate hairstrings do look very realistic!
not to be picky, but there are some things that could be improved. her arm looks to thin for her body and it would be nice if there would be a little bit more contrast between the light and dark parts of het face. but these are just small things.
