Since I have no idea what is going on in Batman, all I know is that the Wayen Batman has been missing (Grayson taking his place), and Joker disappeared too until recently, and he was dressed in all black and had the slick hair and permenent smile. Joker misses his Batman so much, and of course he knows the current Grayson Batman is not 'his' Batman.So, in fangurl geek mode, I thought of a corney reunion between the two rivals/luvey-doveys. X3

Though Ilike the technique of the picture and your art skills are good and the picture itself is nice, i have to say I really dislike the pairing. Quite honestly I would like people to just leave the well known characters alone and not make every guy in there gay ( no i dont have anything against yaoi or gay people, i have many gay friends). It is starting to be very uncomfortable that every famous character has been turned into yaoi. Please leave the characters asthey are. Make your own OC's in yaoi pictures or what ever pleases you. But otherwise, if i forget its batman and joker who are all lovey dovey, I like it.

As a huge Batman fan, I have to say that this pairing, as far as in the slash sense, would never ever happen. Not because they're both canonically straight, since let's face it, when has that ever stopped anyone? I have two reasons. First, though all indications are that they like the ladies, those indications are few and far between. These are two men suffering from some really serious mental problems, and one of those problems is obsession with their "work," to the exclusion of pretty much everything else. I'm not going to write out a whole psychological profile here (that's been done several times elsewhere and is an interesting read), but suffice to say that as far as romance is concerned, especially in the comics and to a lesser extent in the movies, they really don't devote any time to the concept.
The other reason I don't ever see this pairing as working is that their dynamic has always been as the ultimate enemies. Things are changing now as people look for ways to make heroes more appealing to the current audience, which means more grit-in-the-teeth, knock down drag out fighting, and less shiny space stations and ending moral lessons. But even so, Bats and Mistah J still have the core of their dynamic intact. Batman swore he'd never use a gun, and, for the most part, has managed to keep to that, albeit sometimes by finding creative ways to use other things to kill people. Joker has no such compunctions, but that's not important. What is important, is that because Batman's peculiar personal moral code stops him from just straight up killing Joker, and because part of Joker's psychosis is an obsession with beating Batman, the two are locked in the cycle of Joker tries to take over Gotham/bring down Batman, Things Look Bleak for our hero, Unexpected escape (is actually pretty expected at this point), Off to Arkham goes the Joker, Joker escapes. Lather, rinse, repeat. Sometimes there are other bits of plotline that happen between any of the ones I listed, but it all boils down to them in the end. And it's gotten to the point where people think maybe the two depend on fighting each other for purpose/existence/etc. That's part of the psychological profile I'm not going into here. But the theory has led to some pretty interesting stuff, including a fantastic fanfic where Batman gets killed and the Joker wanders around committing crimes, hoping he'll show up and that the death was a hoax or something. And it's full of flashbacks to times Joker could have won so easily except for Batman stopping him, and compares those fights to the present situation, where he's just going around taking things over with very few problems. And I won't spoil the ending in case some people are reading it currently, but suffice to say it's quite sad.
Some people will point out that enemies are slashed all the time in fandom, and that's true. I even advocate some of the pairings. Hell, I can even see Clark Kent/Lex Luthor working under the right circumstances, with the new canon having them be childhood friends and all. But something about Batman and Joker makes them seem like they just always have to stay in their particular roles. The whole Batman continuum, and by extension the DC Universe, doesn't really work without them constantly fighting and having to outsmart each other. It's on the level of mythology, and now that I think about it, very Jungian. Batman is the antihero archetype, and Joker the villain archetype, and they can't be anything else or something will be thrown out of whack with the universe.
HOWEVER. All that said, this is a fantastic picture. And I can definitely see their reunion going like this! Not in a slashy sense. But I figure, after this long fighting each other, the two of them have to have developed some mutual respect. And the Joker definitely misses Bruce Wayne. Even in canon, he knows something's off right now. I'm behind in my reading so I don't know if he's figured it out yet, but when he does he is gonna be seriously mad/disappointed. I can even see him being worried about Bruce, to the point where he stops being a criminal mastermind long enough to go look for him.
Sorry to write such a looooonnnngg comment. Your art is Amazing with a capital A, and like others have said, this high contrast style is perfect for these two. I also like the subtle differences in pose between the two close-ups and the full shot (Bat's hand, Joker's head angle). Gives a deeper emotional story to the viewers. Faved!
