Description
Looking through the photographs that my sister took of our "Captivenia Marketplace", I absolutely fell in love with this picture and knew I had to paint it.Ah, after months frantic sewing and attention to the thousands of details that Captivenia demanded we deal with, it's nice to finally have some "me time", and paint to my heart's content.

This is very beautiful work. I love how the Woodwork is depicted here. He is concentrating a great deal on what he is doing while at the same time showing happiness in what he is doing.

Overall I think it's a really strong piece. The composition works well, particularly how you framed the chisel with the antlers.
If I were to make any changes at all, I would slightly darken the vertical white marks behind his shoulder. It is such a similar value to his shirt, that they appear to blend together into one mass. I would also remove the white texture on the left antler. I can't read what it is exactly, but it also tends to merge with the man's shirt and distract from your focal point. Okay, so I reworked the background and opted to go for just a subtle vignette. And the white on the antlers was actually a carving he was rather proud of, but apparently I was unable to portray that very well, so I just got rid of that as well. I think it all looks more simple, and I like simple.
