I have this little poster that came with my first Final Fantasy VII guide when I was 11. I've had it on my walls for years and its a bit worn out now. I wanted to make my own version for my wall
...but I got distracted then decided I liked it unfinished.I know this is kind of copying and I don't like doing that or referencing heavily (just a personal preference I don't mind it if others do ) but I don't draw much fan art now a days and thought I'd do it for sentimental value ^_^;
2B pencil, watercolours on A3 paper.

This is really great. I knew it was based on the Amano pic as soon as I saw the thumbnail. I didn't even need to read the title. You did a great job in showing the style. Yet at the same time this is still definitely your own. There are enough differences to make this a good tribute, and not a blatant copy. Nice job.
And you gave Cloud good hair. I always hated the way Amano drew Cloud's hair. lol XD

I can't put fan art in my portfolio, sell it or use it for uni work though. Its better I spend my time drawing my own ideas. Fan arts fun but if I'm going to spend a few hours on a pictutre it should be on one that's going help my career
