They do have a lot of similarities, don't they? They were both raised in solitude, in a verdant forest, with only an animal/several animal companions for friends, and are seen barefoot before learning of their true heritage. Of course, Aurora had the advantage of being raised by loving maternal figures; fabulous as Donna Murphy's sarcastic and self-absorbed script may be, Gothel is definitely NOT loving parent material.
