Description
This was originally supposed to cover a bigger topic but I got lazy and decided to do only this in the end.

The longships were a type of specialized warships used by the peoples of Scandinavia during the Viking Ages (793-ca 1050 AD) but have been proven archaeologically to have existed centuries prior to the Viking ages. To say that they were only used for warfare and raiding however is as narrow a view to look at the longships as it is to look at the Viking ages in its entirety. The ships were also used to transport goods and commodities to trade with, as the late Iron Ages Scandinavians were also traders. The longships was very multitasking in its techniques, as it could both use oar power, sail and could also enter riverways. The longships would also continue to influence other cultures' ship building techniques, such as that of the Anglo-Saxons on the British Isles (who, as we all know had continous contacts with Norsemen specifically from the areas around Denmark and Norway). The longship appeared in its complete form between the 9th and 13th centuries.

I have honestly been running low on both ideas and motivation.
