I don't know about her face. It looks like she is thinking "You dense mother fucker. I will hurt you."

If one looks at the original manuscript's engraving, I would actually agree: ub.uu.se/digitalAssets/305/c_3…

Since everyone here is saying something fucking irrelevant, I'm gonna chime in.
History is an Anime. Anime is Real. I like Anime. I watch Anime. History is my Anime. What if China invaded Germany in the 16th century? Would that ever be possible? If the Mongols conquered Russia, then it might be possible, right?!
My Humanity has been tarnished and will not recover in the faith any time soon. Fuckin' Hell with these people.

Now that that's out of the way, let's lighten it up a bit;
Since I've read the description, I'm curious. Were these kinds of illustrations drawn by King Magnus IV Eriksson, or someone with an education in the arts? Hadn't actually thought of kings spending their time drawing. (I've read the desc. but it'd be nice for a bit of clarification.)
And a little bit of backstory from this piece would be interesting to hear.

Most likely someone serving in his court. A king's business usually weren't of the artistic kind. Especially with no possibility of printing, such jobs as drawing and writing were up for artists and writers.

Ah, I figured. Would've been interesting to hear about a King doing art (which I'm sure there is a someone in history who does...)
And the backstory?

As cool as that is, that is pretty irrelevant to this pic's theme.

Hey, tiger, hypothetically, if a fascist dictator overthrew democracy and seized power in The United States, how could americans stop him?

Sorry. Worried about current events in my home country and thought I'd ask a historian about past incidents similar to modern problems and how those past incidents were resolved.

You can always ask him stuff on his profile page. At least that's more appropriate.

Well, how did the Italians overthrow Mussolini?

tigerfaceswe In reply to Zedekial [2017-02-25 18:21:45 +0000 UTC]
Most likely due to the Axis forces were losing at that point. Besides, it was Italian partisans who captured and executed him. That being resistance members against Mussolini's regime.
A similar question would have been "What happened with national socialism after Germany lost WW2".
But I ask a more relevant question now - what does this have to do with documents from the 14th century?
