My finished 1:48 P-40E based on the colours of Moe Moe Niji Taisen character Claire, the P-40 steel maiden.

Where do I begin on this kit? This finished model will never see the light of day in a contest. I am not happy with most of it. The only things I'm happy with is the colours matching Claire's and the detailing and weathering I did with the cockpit. The rest, not that impressed. This was an older kit, Pro Modeller from the 80's I think.

Here's a list of what problems I had:

- nose-cone doesn't want to stay glued and keeps popping off
- back landing wheel doesn't stay and snapped off after it was glued in place.
- tiny little parts that will barely be seen. Why do kits have to have tiney-tiny parts that could easily just be molded on when they make the kits, especially on a 1:48 scale one?
- cockpit window parts don't line up perfectly and leave small gaps.
- Decals not added due to be accurate with Claire since she doesn't have any visible decals and also I didn't want to fight with the kit any longer.

Overall, not impressed with this kit, but I still worked away at it to make Claire. I will be looking for a better P-40 kit to build her again and do a better job.
