My Christmas picture for this past year, 2006.Just about everyone on my Christmas Card List this year got a miniature sepia-toned version of this picture, but I wanted to post what Shirow referred to as the Limited Edition of it so that everyone could enjoy it. Of course, I couldn't post it before Christmas because I was in Daytona for 3 weeks visiting my future in-laws. But, whatever.
I wanted to make my Christmas picture a sort of "In Memory" tribute to my daughter, but I didn't want to go overboard with sappiness. I think I found a happy medium. Most of my old friends had been referring to my baby as the "tiger cub," and so it felt right depicting a sleeping tiger cub. The CLAMP-ish detached wings were added as almost an afterthought, but I like the contrast they add.
Lines: Digitially inked lines based on a pencil sketch I did at work.
Color: Photoshop 6.0 and a mouse. Quite a few of the floral brushes used for the background were created by the lovely .

I am sorry for your loss. I didn't know you lost your daughter. It is a hard thing to deal with. I lost two pregnancies, I don't presume to say I know what you went through, but I can honestly say, it has changed me. *huggles* She loves this piece.

Those wings are indeed CLAMP-esque, now that I think about it...
You could have been as 'sappy' as you wanted, Love, and there would have been no shame in that. But this is perfect the way it is. She'll always be your tiger cub, and I pray you will be blessed with more in the future.

Hee hee ^^ The stripes were.. I think I just did bands of black and used the Smear tool to make them soft and furry. I can't remember.
I almost added squiggles to the santa hat. Then I realized it wouldn't work well once I shrank it down for the printouts, and said to hell with it. Though actually I'm surprised you didn't mention the bell
