Just something I'm working on instead of doing all the things I'm supposed to be doing.
I decided I wanted to do something PROPER, something i haven't done since that Nature picture aaages ago. This means, yusyus, FULL-body, no shirking on the details, and -scariest of all- a PROPER background. I will go down the unoriginal route and choose clouds, I think. Ah well, they're so pretty and we all have to start somewhere!
I referenced this pretty closely. [link] I (loser I am) trawl model sites looking for pretty faces and I just LOVE this one. It might pop back into my art every now and then.
I really didn't capture whatever it is the original has, but I just love the vulnerable-yet-devastating thing she's got going on. But she is alas, BLONDE and I have never eeeever painted blonde hair before, because I see it for some reason as bluish rather than yellow, then I end up with someone with blue hair which is just WRONG.I talk too much! Photoshop CS, Wacom Intuous tablet.

Wow, thats really awesome! The features are spot on and the colors are perfect, watch out though, I think the top of her head is just a bit too high, trim it down and you should be good. Keep up the awesome work

Oh it is great!!!! Neat lines , smooth textures and a beautiful faery-like face!!! She's sweet...The eye colour is percious!!!Brilliant!!!I just LOVE it...This is definately your style , I think the way you've drawn her face and the skin tones blending you've used this time are just delicious!!!...I don't know what to say , this piece , even if its being a WIP is gorgeous Lucy!!!

Woah. Beautiful. It's so finished! Excellent, now you'd better continue this standard throughout the whole piece. 
Well, since it is a WIP; I can't really see enough of the lighting but I think the highlights should be bolder and your shadows richer and more voluminous. The midtones, uh, alright the actual... colours(!) are perfect though. I can't imagine the amount of work you had to do to get them. Her left eyelid is larger than the right, although somehow I can't bring myself to care, lol, that can be your improvement on the model. The hair is looking good, flow's very soft and you've got real potential for depth. I'll stop rambling as if I know what I'm saying - just keep painting.

Aarrrgh you are sooo right!!! I have the most unbelievable troubles with contrast. *cries* I must have been very mean to it in a past life. But -I shall MAKE myself use richer colours!
Damn, I was kind of studiously ignoring the eyelid weirdness... the model actually does have one eyelid thicker than the other!! though it is likely I exaggerated that. Yah, I'm on it!

Lol, that's okay, best reward I could think of for all the hard work. Oh yeah, the left eyelid does seem more prominent on the model.
So, those shadows... I cannot help because... Enayla has never painted this exact colour scheme before. NOOO! But you could try adding jade hues? (in other words, if you havent already go see Enayla's Jade section ^^)
Three weeks till the exam. =_= sums up my progress?
