Dapples omg dapples probably took more time than anything else here XD It was awesome to sit and work on something and take my time with it. Pretty sure I haven't spent this long on one singular piece in a long time. I tweaked and poked about a lot but I think if I prod it any more I'll never stop x.x Poor Errol, surrounded by noisy riff raff.
This month kicked my butt. I started the Trials with an abundance of energy and mistakenly thought it would last, then baby learned to crawl and suddenly the deadline is UP and I didn't get anywhere close to finishing all my entries, but I'm real happy with the two I did manage, so there's that. If baby even sleeps for long enough now, I might manage to finish the third

“How long does it take to ‘snap just one fotah’?” Angelique sighed, grimacing as the shutter clacked for the upteeth time.
Jessie peeked over the camera, “You had your eyes closed in that one, smile nicely!”
Jason coughed from across the way and scratched his forehead, “Pretty sure Angel ain’t ever smiled, she just bares ‘er teeth. Errol looks like ‘e’s having more fun’en you, and that’s sayin’ sumthin.” The chestnut filly next to him whinnied loudly, as she had been every 30 seconds for the entire morning. Her dam, Tiny, replied just as loudly. Errol’s ears flickered back and forth and his sighed.
Angelique sighed with him and put her hand on her hip, “You try standing here ‘smiling nicely’ for quarter of an hour and see how you do.” She replied through gritted teeth.
“Pretty sure Jess took one fotah of me and she were done. What can I say, Alice ‘n’ I we’re jus’ naturally photogenic. Smile nicely!”
Angelique grumbled under her breath and flashed a smile at the camera.
“Perfect! You next Tiny!” Jess scurried away across the arena, dodging immaculate warmbloods and their equally immaculate owners.
Jason draped an arm over Alice’s back and gestured at the clear blue sky, “Storm’s comin’, sure you don’t wan’ me t’ take Errol round Clancy’s day after tomorra’?”
Angel quirked a brow, “You’re not riding my horse, he’s a precision animal and you...” She looked him up and down, “Wouldn’t know precision if it bit you on the ass. Besides, I’m not sure I’m going to enter Clancy’s Ride after all - I want Errol in fine shape for the Refinement Trial.”
The stockman snorted, “A good run would do ‘im good, loosen ‘im up for yer prancy dancin’.”
“Dressage isn’t—” She took a deep breath, she knew better than to take Jason’s bait, “We’ll see.”
“Well the offer still open, besides, ain’t no chance of Grand Champion for ‘im without a ribbon in Clancy’s. I ain’t got nuffin to do that day and we all know precision’s bit you in the ass too many times fer you to sit Clancy’s all the way round without a cushion. ”
Angel fairly growed under her breath and opened her mouth to retort back when the tannoy called her and Errol to stand for inspection. The most annoying thing about Jason was he was nearly always right.
