First time I was satisfied with "storm photos". But what makes me angry I forgot how to count that time to lightning so I have only few really better photos
(it means lot of clouds but with lighting you can count on one hand).Kinda funny to be there overnight...who know which time it was? Exactly until 2:30 morning. I stayed outside whole storm (with some protection like warm clothes - never forget it or you will suffer!)

I think it's actually the lightning that comes first, then you can count the seconds until the thunder comes, to work out how far away the lightning is.

I know about the danger of bad weather. Here, in the mountains, weather changes rapidely, and it can make a mountain trip ending up in a helicopter to hospital for some tourists.

Nice capture! And I will Agree with you on the whole counting thing, depending on how many seconds after the initial strike until you hear the thunder is roughly how many miles away the storm is... But it's also rather useful most storms if you count 5 to 7 seconds apart you will see lightning which helps me capture what I do
