I know that drawing eyes and faces is haraam (though there are debates whether it's just the eyes or the face as well.... ^^'').
It's okay if you're drawing architecture and nature.... but drawing animals is also haraam (eyes and face haha xD).
On the day of judgement, one who draws these things will have to put soul into them before he can enter paradise....

not haraam..it's just we committed a small sin if the anime was smut and 'dirty'. Β If we keep adding the small sin then, it will be the big sin. ^^ drawing is not haraam except if you draw Β those things ( sex, porno, and rude like make fun of other religion)

here are some summary notes taken and compiled from the links i will post below from that site in sha ALLAH so that u can read too
there are 2 main points .Β
1-ProphetΒ (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, according to the saheeh hadeeth: βEvery image maker will be in the Fire.β And heΒ (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: βThe most severely punished of people on the Day of Resurrection will be the image-makers, those who tried to imitate the creation of Allaah.β And heΒ (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: βThe makers of these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and they will be told, βGive life to that which you have created.ββΒ Β
The ProphetΒ (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed those who consume riba (interest, usury) and those who pay it, and he cursed the image-makers. This indicates that making images is forbidden. The scholars interpreted that as referring to images of animate beings such as animals, people and birds.Β Β
With regard to drawing inanimate objects β which is the second type of drawing β there is no sin in that, such as drawing mountains, trees, planes, cars and the like. There is nothing wrong with that, according to the scholars.Β Β

2-It seems that images with incomplete features and those which do not have a nose or eyes are not included in the images that are haraam, and their makers are not included in the warning, because they cannot really be called images and these pictures are not competing with the creation of Allaah.Β

In the link that i gave you in previous post has stated the Fatwa issued by the eminent Muslim scholar, Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradwi.
So....accordingly, photographs, including cartoons, are permissible. (I just copy the points from the website)
1. Cartoons are not identical copies, and therefore they do not reflect all features of their subject matter.
2. They are used in the fields of da`wah, education, and culture.
3. Children are always attracted to and influenced by this form of art, so we should not ignore this means of bringing our children β as well as adults β up on the morals and teachings of Islam.
4. Non-Muslims have preceded us in this field and flooded Muslim countries with the cartoons pertaining to their cultural attitudes. It is necessary that Muslims aim to produce attractive, educational alternatives, which are orientated towards Islam and thus of benefit to our children.So i'm holding to this Fatwa.
I didn't mean to force you to accept this .... it's not wrong to think that way anyway. ^^
Btw, i disagree with the second point (unless you have convincing explaination).
it's like....as if you're saying that humans with no eyes or nose etc. are not creation of Allah. I don't think by doing so (---> drawing incomplete figure) will settle the problem.
