Description Junior TV (Jtv) was an Italian television network, founded by Danilo Orsini, a national, broadcasting since 1985 via a syndication of at least 31 stations affiliated with a coverage of about 85% of the national territory. Junior TV broadcast for eight hours a day (four hours in the morning and four hours in the afternoon), and the programming was entirely dedicated to children and teenagers with cartoons, comedy and entertainment sections. For a period in the first half of the 90s, has been under the wing of Publitalia (Fininvest).

The cartoons were transmitted largely produced in Japan, and often it was set already aired in other channels, regional or national, in particular those dedicated to the robot (eg UFO Robot Grendizer [1]), but also had the Junior Tv about to transmit absolute premieres on Italian territory, and later devoted himself to the self-produced. It was the first station to broadcast in Italy the series Dragon Ball, had not yet been subjected to censorship and the original coding. Initially got a block of 54 episodes with an edition other than that aired this day. [2] Later however this was re-edited and ridoppiato by Mediaset with the addition of another part of the series until episode 99. Due to problems arising from the importation of the episode, only in the spring of 1998 came on TV the next episodes from 100 to 153 (you can in fact see some voice changes from 100 º episode). [2] After the broadcast of the series, was Guest Akira Toriyama, creator of the series, who was on a visit to Italy. It was also the only Italian television network to broadcast the two seasons of the Australian series of "The Girl of the Future", and the only one to transmit the anime series Virtua Fighter, is a video game SEGA. At the weekend were also broadcast feature films. In 1995, the series Molly opened the European co-production with Canal Junesse and Children's Channel.

In 1996 he took over Enrico Preziosi, the first poster of the circuit, and Junior Tv underwent a makeover: the cartoons returned to be introduced by the small prologues made in a television studio, as was the case in the early years of the issuer. This time, however, the cut given to these interventions had a tone and less childish intended for an audience of teenagers. In this study it was also a band called "Rare animals", which featured cover versions taken from the repertoire of rock. Disappeared with the mascot, Junior, a white rabbit dressed in red overalls. Among the presenters of the program, called House J, there was also a young Giorgia Surina, who at the time was a face little known to the public, though already appeared in several TV commercials and paper and Comedy Magician Mariano Shuttle "Mr Magic Mariano "that in the years to follow will present his show at Gardaland for over 1500 replies. The historical logo of the channel was changed and "Junior Tv" the name became "JTV" (in the season 1996 / '97 appeared as a yellow logo from the next one appeared white with red writing TV, which will remain until the end) .

In 1997 JTV began airing daily The Simpsons: up to that time, the series of Matt Groening was still considered, in Italy, a niche product for the few fans. In fact, the series was aired on Channel 5 in fits and starts, weekly, and never get a stable place in the schedule, being relegated to inconvenient hours, such as Sunday morning, or 15:30, half an hour before Bim Bam Bum. A few months later, Italy first began airing the cartoon in a daily basis and in the afternoon slot, turning the series, even in Italy, in a program of worship, broadcast continuously for thirteen years. Then, from 1997 to 1999, The Simpsons airing simultaneously on both channels.

In those years, JTV experienced during the weekend, the projection of OAV: among these were aired features of Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya, broadcast uncensored, but after a few months, the proposed transmission only replicas of what has already been transmitted. Despite the trailers had seen images of Oh My Goddess!, This anime was never sent. Similarly, the network began to replicate even the entr'actes introductory between a carton and the other, and for more than a year Junior TV images used footage, until they ceased to transmit. At the same time, Giorgia Surina had landed on MTV, but the station continued to broadcast reruns of House J who saw between conductors.

In 1999, the circuit is detected by Raymond Lagostena Netherlands in the last period of the Profit and everyday space decreases gradually until they are sent only two animated series in the late afternoon. From 1 October 2003 are closed contacts with local broadcasters and the circuit is placed in Odeon TV, which is also the profit from 2001. You only hear the television version of "Peanuts" and the logo is even used for transmission of dance. Following this too has disappeared.

Among the best-known presenters are mentioned, as well as Giorgia Surina (which later became known to the general public as MTV VJ), Vesna Luisi, Federica Fontana, Fabio Canino (then moved to work in Rai) and Raul Cremona. In some programs appeared animated caricatures made directly by the issuer, including "the PiùPazzi", "Splash", "JTV news", etc ...
