Lmao, you don't even know the terms. Hentai refers to any rule 34/pornographic picture/drawing, including yaoi and yuri. It does not refer only to heterosexual porn, but all kinds of porn.
And no...yaoi (which is porn too, by the way, because for romantic relationships between males, it is used the term "shounen-ai" not "yaoi", which is porn) is definitely used by fangirls only because they find it hot. There's nothing romantic about yaoi, because as I have already said, yaoi is simply porn between two anime males.

Homosexual fanfiction focuses more on sex, while heterosexual fanfiction has romantic elements too, much more often, it has more depth (AGAIN, I'm not talking about porn, but mere MalexMale fanfiction and MalexFemale fanfiction).
Let's take an example. If you know, Naruto.
Most Naruto/Hinata, Neji/Tenten blah blah (straight couples) most fanfic stories with them are romance stories. They don't have much sex/M rated elements in them.
Whereas most Sasuke/Naruto (or any other male x male) stories focus on sex, they are M rated stories usually.
Which proves most yaoi fangirls like yaoi couples just because they're "hawt".

There are literally THOUSANDS of Sakura X Naruto smut that's about as badly written and sucky, and only focuses on sex. It doesn't matter if it's Yaoi or not. Most of those fanfictions are just bad and focus on sex.
