Description This is the true first page of the comic trade, the first post is its cover.

This was done the same day as the cover...which also took all day. This is part two of the comic I'm doing for (A Friend)
It was originally a single pic trade...but the moment I figured out how to convert the Brawl snapshots I got obsessed with expanding it in big ways...BIG ways.

This can be voted as great or crap due to my experimentation with the gradients and lighting effects. For some reason it wouldn't let me use the same lighting effect filter on the top panel that I did in the bottom (I was working on them separately :\ ).

This is just Tabby and Kari beginning their battle.

It's the battle of the species and sexes both in one!
Who will triumph?!

Anywho, nice artwork and the brawl screenshot is added rather well.

You don't use a Gamecube controller? You noob.

Lol the real noobs are the ones using Gamecube controllers.

If you can't pick up a new controller (wiimote+chuck) and be as good as you were on the old GCN controller, then that's proving you don't have as great a gaming talent as you could. >=O

Lol no offense to those who like being tethered 3 feet from the Wii with their head hogging the screen, but I picked up the wiimote+chuck and was playing just as well as I used to on Melee within 5 2-minute 1v1 matches. (that was actually on the release night of Brawl. I won the tournament because I was one of the best at learning the new controls) (and because Pink Yoshi is the best character) I like the feel of playing and being able to stand up, walk around, leave the room if I feel like it, move my arms around, and all while still fighting... The Wii offers a really relaxing way of holding the controllers, and the control scheme is admittedly not much different. It just took a quick tweak of the grab button to the C button to make it just as easy as the GCN controller was. (of course, I had to do this on my own game. For the tournament, we were stuck with default controls)

Lol @ me going off on a tangent on someone's pic.

Umm..

OT: Cool comic! How did you get the screenshots for it? (I like the randomness pictures you threw in the 3rd and 4th ones X3)

Meh, I know how to work the Wii controller for Brawl, I just prefer the controls on the GC one to the Brawl one. Some maneuvers on the Wiimote seem slightly impossible to figure out. But eh, it's just a personally preference. Though I'll be stumbling on controlling a Xbox controller when the time comes.

Thanks for the comments on my comic btw. And as for the screenshots, I did the whole "taking snapshots while paused during the middle of the battle" thing and saved them to my SD Card instead of the Wii system. There is a site that's up where you can load the image files from the SD card to the site to convert them into jpegs. Unfortunately I forgot which site it is, and there's one convert site, at least, that's no longer up from last I heard.

That's a shame that the site is down. I liked the pics you got, though. It seemed like you had actually taken the 3-d models and moved them to those positions, because you got it looking pretty good. =3

I had troubles with the wiimote controls at first, but (This is partially because I'm used to using a+direction for smash attacks instead of the c-stick and pressing up to jump instead of a button) once I switched "grab/throw item" to C on the nunckuck, all I really had to do was get used to A and B being where they are, (incredibly easy and simple, I had this down before the end of my 1st battle) and the shield button being on the left. (I use shield dodging and general shielding a lot, and I used to use R for that, so it was a simple change of sides)

Other than those few things, very little changed, and now I can play the mote/chuck better than I could ever play with the GCN controller. And it's nice not being wired to the system and being able to more my arms (and me) around during play and between matches. I'm better off for the change because now, I have mastery over all control schemes except the wiimote by itself. (Let me say right now, that is the worst control scheme ever. If you're truly GOOD, you'll only be handicapped by it a bit once you get used to it, but that controller alone makes things so much harder)

If you can get a Classic controller, that's a good way to be wireless and mostly free without having to learn a new control scheme. The feel of the Classic controller isn't too bad, either.

Well, luckily, I found a Wavebird online that works fine, so I have a VERY GOOD wireless GC remote.

For me, anything wireless is a step down. And for the record, I lie down when I play, so my gargantuan head is in nobody's way (it really is gargantuan). I wouldn't be able to walk while playing without tripping anyway XD.

I am, however, impressed that you can still fight with Yoshi. I liked him in Melee, but in Brawl Yoshi feels completely unplayable to me. Ganondorf got weakened too, and he's my fave...

Really? I feel more like Yoshi is the same, with a few good changes. Since the 3rd level of the tournament where I got beat for sticking to Yoshi and his slow roll dodge going against fast characters, I've been using others more often.

My favorite is that I figured out how to charge Yoshi's egg throw, and how it lifts you up a bit in midair. (I can't believe I didn't figure out the charge, after 100s of hours of playing mostly Yoshi)

His controls just feel too... loose for me now.

On the other hand, I love how Luigi came through the transition, and a lot of the new characters are great.
