Shenuk is in a lot of pain after yesterday's run. He was happily running with his husky friend Tundra when he suddenly stopped and began to cry over and over in pain. Unlike the time he was scared he did not shut up when we got to him and would not put down his back leg.I stayed up all night waiting for morning to see if he was better and turns out he was worse this morning then he was last night. So I spent the morning out there with him as we waited to take him to the emergency Vet. And that is when this sad picture was taken of him.
UPDATE: Shenuk has seen the vet and tore something in his knee. He has to go see his own vet on Tuesday and must be scheduled for surgery as soon as possible or he could ruin the other leg. Poor guy will no be able to go running again this summer, and maybe into the winter.

He is actually both. Half and half. Father is a pure husky and his mother is a pure malamute. ONLY thing he got from his father (a really red husky) is his eyes and height, other then that, he looks JUST like his mother.)

This isn't a malamute. Malamutes don't have blue eyes unless they are part husky.

He is half and half. Only thing husky about him is his eyes and height which he gets from his father. A pure bread husky. (Red too so he gets NOTHING else from his father. LOL.)
His mother looks just like him, only with brown eyes of course being a pure bread Malamute.

Does your regular vet do cruciate surgery? Or do you have to take him to the surgical specialist?
We've sent a few dogs from our clinic to the surgical specialist.

We are not sure yet. He did it on the long weekend so we have to wait till Tuesday to find out. But the place we took him to today said if he does not go to his regular vet he can have it done there but they could not do it today cause the specialist was not in, otherwise he might have mamanged to get in much sooner. And for now we have to keep him quiet while at the same time doing things with Shalun. So I made Shenuk a straw bed to lay in all day and he will come in and sleep at night or when it rains.

Yeah, I know my vet doesn't do cruciates. They're very tricky.
Just to let you know, the specialist is Dr Bouck. He's an amazing surgeon. A very nice man as well. I've talked to him on the phone ^^'

He's at the Surgical Referral center, which is located inside the Veterinary Emergency clinic. ^_^
At the emerg clinic, when they said the specialist isn't in, they are referring to him, lmao.

Oh I thought I reconized the name. Oh that is perfect then cause I think that is where we will go if he cant get it done at his vet.
