Description I've worked on doing something with this photo a few times a week ever since it was shot a few months ago. I can see something in it, but can't bring it out. It's frustrating! Anyway, this is the best I can do for now.

Beautiful shot. I don't think I'd change anything.

I hate when I see something but can't get it out!

As a thumbnail I notice the building and almost totally miss the bike which is what I think your focus is on judging by the title. When I full view it I see the bike but the brightness on the building outshines it a million fold. I'm not sure I'm the one to be saying anything since I'm new to altering these things and don't even know if it can be done but if you could mute the brightness on the building only (I love the dappled grass and don't feel that it detracts) and richen the color and depth of the bike then I think you would have it.

Unfotunately I'm sure it's easier said than done.

Still a great picture!

Thank you! I ws thinking of an exercise, just for fun where I would post the raw image and let everyone who wants to play with it, just to see all the different interpretations

I've often thought of that and that's kind of why I posted two versions of We 3 Ships. Like you with this one, I can see something but can't reach it.

OK, how does this sound? I'll post the raw image and I believe you can set it so people can download the full size? Then when everyone has theirs finished I'll do a feature on all of them.

It's worth a try. I think it would be neat just to see what everyone comes up with.

I think so too. Not a contest, just something to have fun with and see everyone show off their own style.

I'll try to make something out of it but I'm not having too much luck with this Photoshop thing. The layers just aren't working for me. Things look too fabricated or they obliterate things and when I crank down the strength then I can't see the changes really that I did on the layer.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

TimLaSure In reply to chalutplease [2008-12-30 22:28:12 +0000 UTC]

That's where yo have to keep applying layers and keep making little tweeks.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

chalutplease In reply to TimLaSure [2008-12-31 00:25:16 +0000 UTC]

OK. I'll try that and see if I have better luck.

When you save it do your layers disappear? I save mine as JPG because I want to load them to DA but when I try and reopen I just have one layer and can't make adjustments and have to start all over.

TimLaSure In reply to chalutplease [2008-12-31 00:55:41 +0000 UTC]

If you want to save the layers separate you have to save them as a PS or PSP image, or in their default format.

Thanks so much for helping me with this. I've got the right setting now and it's saving in layers. It was so great to work on my snails and swap layers between pictures to add effects. Wow!
