I think the framing really helps to make this photo picture-perfect. And hooray for some other colors coming back into our worlds!

A little bit of color is finally here The holler where those flowers were beckoned me! It had patches of green here and there. I shot about 100 frames there still trying to do something with them.

Nice shot Tim.
I was going to tell you all about Trilliums but I see Cathie beat me to it.

It will be a few weeks before the woods at our golf course are white with them.

Oh I know all about the woods at golf courses

I'm not very familar with the woods at our golf course. Not that I don't hit balls there...but I don't look for them. I hate snakes, mosquitos and I get poison ivy just by looking at it.

Very pretty! I don't think I've ever seen any flowers like this before...and it really amazes me that they could grow up so beautiful out of the harsh rocks.

Hi Tim, this is a beautiful photo. These are actually called Trilliums, and are the flower of Ontario. It is illegal to pick them. The also come in a reddish colour. Just thought you would like to know how the same flowers are called something different in different places.

Thanks! Yes, I think I heard that name before, no what you mention it.

your welcome. Do they have a scent?

TimLaSure In reply to SMerle [2009-04-18 22:05:17 +0000 UTC]

No, I don't think so. They are the first flowers of spring here that are visible from a distance because they grow in clusters on rocky, shady, damp hillsides.
