Description
Tao Pai Pai -Also known as Mercenary Tao, The World's Greatest Assassin; hired by the Red Ribbon army and demonstrating his power by killing General Blue with his tongue, Tao Pai Pai goes to kill Goku and retrieve the Dragonballs. In the process Tao kills Bora, Upa's Father. Goku recieves special training from Korin before he can defeat Tao. Tao attempts to finish the match with a grenade but Goku reflects it back towards the assassin moments before it detonates.

He was a pretty good villain, it's a shame he was beaten with only a little bit of training, would've been nice to see him more often, but then again, I'm glad he went out the way he did.

Haven't heard that name in a while and might not remember it wasn't for his coming back in DBZ right before the Cell Games. Anyway, I liked this Tao from Dragonball better. The Makes me wanna watch DB all the way through, then look for the couple episodes Tao Pai Pai reappears in working for the mobster. That good, seriously!

Tao Pai Pai is a really fun character, I liked him both as a human and as a cyborg, it was a unique transition, and it was funny how he was still weak compared to everyone after he became a cyborg.

I always thought it was funny how the weaker characters like him tried underhanded tactics to compensate for their weaknesses too; like Raditz tricking Goku into letting go of him, Cui lying about Frieza coming, and Dr. Gero hiding in the rocky outcrops waiting for an energy blast to absorb.
Tao Pai Pai's last ditch effort of throwing the grenade at Goku at Dragonball was hilarious and so was the puzzle he gave Goku which his henchman wanted to help him solve anyway.

General Tao? No. They never met face-to-face, because General Tao didn't know about that place in the sky. If you're talking about Goku, though, yes, he did train with Korin, when Korin was young and had the agility and strength to fight.

Mercenary Tao DID run up the pole in the sky in the anime, but Korin just gave him the water without the training.
