Here are my finished inks of Usagi Yojimbo I'm submitting to The Sakai Project. It's an art book in the works by Dark Horse Comics celebrating the 30th anniversary of Stan Sakai 's samurai rabbit character. All proceeds from this book will go to Stan and his wife Sharon, who has been battling a long term illness. No word yet on if I'll make it into the publication, but I am also donating the original art to an auction also for their benefit. Ink on 11x14 Bristol paper with minor Photoshop adjustments.

Made using brush pens, India ink, straight edges, French curves, white paint. I also did a lot of multiple hand cut masking for the shading effects inks (done with an old toothbrush for grainy but controlled spatter, kind of like how cave men painted their cave walls.) and the gray sky and sun (created with gray spray paint. Hillbilly airbrush).
