Description

After observing the Administrative Regime skirmish with the Crimson Army following the 1st Western Border War, the Aldinian High Command drafted plans for a mobile gun platform capable of taking out well-armored tanks. However, the Aldinians lacked the necessary technology and resources needed to design such a weapon system domestically, and the project lay dormant for many years. As relations soured with the Regime during the 4th decade of the Canonical Era, Aldinia finally received several serviceable, but aging M26 tank destroyers imported from Aurora. With Auroran assistance, Aldinia began local production of a rearmed version of the vehicle leading to the birth of the M34 Armadillo. Although sporting adequate mobility and firepower, the Armadillo was prone to mechanical breakdown and could easily be taken out by enemy armor if spotted.
