Description
In 2012, legendary metal band KoRn toured Europe and I was invited to do a photoshoot with the band a couple of minutes before showtime, when the band was in stage outfit. All band members were incredibly friendly and cooperative. I took them one floor higher in the building where I had my studio flashes set up. It was a bit of a risk, trying a completely new setup for such a big band in a 5 minute shoot, but it was worth it.
I put one of my off-camera flash heads on a tripod, facing towards Jonathan. I asked him to wrap his hands around it. There were two rim lights, lighting the sides of the three other band members. In photoshop, I changed the flash head into a white orb, enlighting only Jonathan's face.
After the shoot (when the band actually needed to head for the stage), Jonathan insisted on seeing the photos first. I showed them to him and I got some of the nicest compliments I've ever had. Great band, to say the least.
