But I would like to ask a question about this move. I've been trying to google it and still can't understand how it works. What's it's purpose? Where is it suppose to hurt? Not to mention that this position is easily escapable. Doesn't even matter if you are below or above... yeah, I'm such a noob I can't understand even who it's suppose to hurt.
Not trying to be a hater, just trying to understand. Because it's the first time I have trouble understanding how a move works...

Well right off the bat you asked the appropriate question "What's it's propose?" Basically to look sexy! In Rumble Roses it's great khans humiliation move...so right there it's implied it's just a hold to embarrass the victim with it's peculiarity, say.
I think it would be better as Reiko's humiliation move renamed 'Angel Wings' to match her lethal move which is called 'Angel Dive' hence this imagining.
Now...I'm not convinced at all it is easy to escape from...especially if the applier is stronger than the victim. The victims leg's being grapevined so there is no chance to utilize your lower body and core to get anything going. And being held up by the armpits and possible having that strange bend in the back along with the legs being grapvined basically has the victim immobilized. Just the grapevine on the legs alone I see people tap out in competitive matches from...and thats when their backs are on the ground not being bent like in this move.

Way back when I got those sound effects from you I was planing on having a Catwoman vs Black Cat fight that basically had Catwoman narrowly being able to escape Black Cat's attacks and being slowly worn down until they get in a small tussle that Black Cat eventually get's a tired Catwoman in this hold and winning because she is stronger and really stretches her limbs in it and just pressures her to a point that she can't continue to resist. ... ...Still should try that now that I bring it up...

If that's mostly to be sexy then alright. Just wanted to confirm that I wasn't really mistaken. Wrestling has a lot of moves that don't actually hurt, but look awesome. Thanks for taking the time to clarify this for me!
Well, not gonna lie, never was on a receiving end of this move and never applied it as well, but from the looks of it, I can see two major weak spots to escape:
1) Victim's shins are held mostly by applier's feet. That's where I see the main point of "security" to be located. "Security" is a move/position that prevents from escaping. The problem is that knee's tendons are much stronger than feet tendons. Hence why I thinks it's a matter of an effort to unbend your knees and your legs are free. And if the applier doesn't release, she risks ripping her feet tendons or possible dislocation.
2) Most of your arms are free to do whatever you like if you are held by armpits like that. Basically an average hit on the applier's inner side of an elbow will be enough to break this hold completely. Not to mention, that hands can't possibly outmuscle shoulders, heh.
Just giving my two cents on the actual fighting applicability.
But if this move serves fanservice purpose, then it's cool. It does look good, especially under certain angles

now...again...yes, it is script wrestling...but as I always do...take a visual and try and Imagen it in a legit sense...spreading the legs will nail the knees and hips...and you can well immobilize the arms in ways.
I seen a boston crab used in mma for a win...pretty unusual but I also dont see an inverted immobilizing grapevine being never ever effective especially if the victim is weakened and the attacker is stronger

I get the 1st point kinda...but then why is the regular grapevine so effective in legit competitive combat in applied properly (a point for any hold really...application)
And i'm not convinced of the idea that the person ontop has any better leverage than the person applying the hold. The person holding them up has the complete advantage of literally being grounded and having their position reinforced. And if the applier is torquing the victim like in the first few clips...what exactly is the person in the hold gonna do?
idk...conjecture...but I'm still not convinced it's a hold just for show if done right
...and on the catfight....jesus christ if I have to do it!....I truly am the last guy on the internet with a mind from the 80's and 90's....most things these days suck

I do agree however that making female characters nowadays less sexy is a shitty trend. Not asking to make them as revealing as during 60s, but I liked how for example Huntress looked during NML ark.

But yeah, it's been a while since I've done something with Catwoman. Other characters should have their chance to shine as well though.
Besides, now that I got used to DAZ I will try and move Catwoman's (and not only her's) suit into DAZ. Naturally it'll be from Arkham, most likely from Arkham Knight. Also her grey costume that was also featured in Arkham City, but originally from BTAS. But that's because there's no real alternative with the same qulity. Injustice suit I basically hate, so not an option.
And yeah, my goal is to make it happen so I can pose her in DAZ with actually decent renders.
Regarding goggles or no goggles, I don't mind either way. My preference for her is to be without a mask and goggles even. However thinking about it, even if I use goggles, it's going to be limited, since it'll mess up with rendering her eyes. And since most of the expression in my renders comes from eyes and brows, having goggles will just make her face blank.

I'm not going to say that goggles are better because first, I don't agree and second - it's a matter of preference.
Now, I think it depends on how you make them work.
For example:

Same costume, same story - looks terrible.
Again, my opinion is that I don't like goggles, because they obscure expression and it's difficult to make good expression with goggles on. That's why you almost never saw me making Catwoman fight with her goggles on. It's a bad idea at least because it also would obscure her own vision making fighting more difficult. But alright, it's comics, it's not the worst that could've happened. Goggles though can be applied in many situations, because they provide safety to her eyes.
Regarding Catwoman in mask, again it depends. The mask from BTAS looks cool and keeps expressions clear (
). A mask from Long Halloween I don't like at all. It takes to much space from her face and has ridiculous ears.
To sum it up, I don't see how it's better, I just see a trend that will eventually go away and maybe with the next change of character design. My preference would be for her to have access to her goggles, but put them on only when it's necessary. Otherwise either keep a mask or simply go on without any mask.

well holy shit...i had this conversation with many a person i have no reason to like...white (even with a look i KNOW is inferior) will make me take a moment or 2 or 3 to think about what i'm about to put out (downed a bottle of Malibu already btw XD)
I can and wil find you the best/worst of catwoman if you ever so call...yet it may take a few days as i got like 90gigs of comics...but im 100% sure catwoman fails again and again with the look alone! never mind the context....if i was an editor and someone handed me the goggle catwoman look, i could ask...why? ans STILL have not had any proper reason why it's been "the thing" for half my damn life...and never will expect a answer btw...cuz let's not pretend because they are working for "the man" that they have anything at ALL to contribute.
Long Halloween got more right than it did wrong for all its flaws. Ears suck...too muscular...but she HAD A MASK and had SHADOW cover her body rather than light...much more intimate. Catwoman should almost be like Batman in the Original Akrham book as in she is a thing talk and thought about in storys and imagined in perfect form (as she would) if ever caught...also should be as rare. The MAIN THING...is that SELINA KYLE and CATWOMAN have been mixed to far together that we as a customer and reader have to accept as if its the only way...no....no....15+ years of NO

That's why I can say for sure why it's a thing. Just a trend which I find to be a simple nuisance, but still something I can overlook. It's not that big really. I'm more conserned with general look and most importantly - the character.

Yeah I remember that. Somehow they decided it was too sexy and made their artists to tone that down. I don't think that her ass under Guillem March's pencil can be considered a gym booty though. I imagined "gym" to be much more meaty.
That's partially the reason why I want to model my own models. Because majority of characters got their figures nerfed by distributors (Injustice 2 comes to mind).
