such a gorgeous shot
I really love the way this looks
I gotta admit I liked it better when she held her hair up, possibly cause I could see more tattoo that way but still a totally gorgeous shot

I'm glad you didn't take this in a bad way, I was starting to wonder after I hit send if I worded it right or not :/

Oh shit, no worries about that. My favourite may not be everyone's favourite and I don't expect it to be.

oh that's great
I've just had the experience of saying what I think and the artist or owner of said work has gone all crazy on me

Naw, I'm not a pretentious asshole like those artists lol. I know other people will see my work different than I.

which I find so great about you and SOOOO fun to comment on your work you don't shot me if I say "Meh I know you can do better" though I think I've never said that to you

Nope, you haven't said that, but I know I can do better anyways.

we can all improve ourselves there's no such thing as perfection...
but what we also need to do is be proud and happy with what we do...

and yes sometimes I do sound like a therapyst

Yaaa.. I'm almost always never totally happy about a picture. This one, for example, I'm not completely happy with how I posed Lauren. Too much arch in her back. Ugh. [link] - I'm not at all happy with how uneven the light falls on the backdrop. Ugh x2 - I'm so OCD when it comes to symmetry. [link] - again, it's too soft. Even my only DD, [link] needs work. The crop is a little off, but I don't feel like I can fix it now. Psh..

Perfectionist. Yup. lol

revsXgirl In reply to tinfoilmedia [2011-01-29 04:21:44 +0000 UTC]

but all these pics look beyond awesome to me...
I mean we all feel this way... even I do with all my work no matter how awesome people say it is... like this one [link] way too purple to be matched with Andy Sixx and too much writing going on...
this one [link] perfect example of what can look great ends up looking horrible when three ideas roll into one.. the typograpy in the name is way too colorful... the heart in the background and the purple smoke is horrible...
something that starts good [link] and I try to fix it [link] but ends up too much...

so I think we're all perfectionists on our own work in a different way... and as I say that I'm kinda thinking you already knew that and I did all this just for the ramble :/

I am happy enough with them because the models tell me they love them. That's the main thing for me.

You make a valid point, and the logical part of me agrees completely and has been telling the other parts of me the same thing. Alas, I don't always listen to that part of me lol.

that's awesome I mean as long as the 'client' likes it, it's good...

lol I have the same thing going for me... I hear what I'm saying and the logical part of me tries to tell the rest of me but it's like the rest of me has headphones on and the music is blaring so nothing gets through lol

Thanks so much, Courtney! I am OCD about alignment.

This is only my third studio shoot! It's definitely easier than I thought.

<3 you're of the utmost welcome .u .
oh god, same ;A ; I hate finding my watermarks or even my piercings out of place in photos. It makes me rage. Hard. Really hard.

oh ffff, I've never been in a real photography studio. This coming Monday, I might be modelling in one still not the same :c

tinfoilmedia In reply to B-e-t-t-i-e [2011-01-29 00:25:32 +0000 UTC]

lol, that's why I don't use watermarks anymore. rage, yes. SPEAKING of lining up and shit - [link] LOOK middle of the frame, just to the right of her spine. DO YOU SEE THE PATTERN? HOLY FUCK.

All photographers should model once in a while. I fucking hated it and needed much alcohol, but it was edumacashunal.

Can't wait to see the results! If you ever find yourself near(ish) London or Woodstock, Ontario, I'll setup a studio shoot you can come out to and take some pics.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
OH GOD, MY EYES.
lol, it's still an awesome photo =]

looool, yes, of course. I find when I'm in front of the camera or when I'm given direction, I sort of get a feel of how to pose people better. I think my modelling has increased my portraiture skills a great deal.

god I hate calling it modelling .-.

Same lol. FFS, that would be fabulous ;A ; oh god
fuck, so close but so far away ,v ,
only a 3 hours drive
it's
fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinneee

lol, you're nuts, SAG.

It's not really the same for me at least lol. I've only "modelled" a couple of times. Ick.

Where's 3 hours away, roughly, if you don't mind me asking? I do a fair bit of travelling for my photography, and have a cottage that is roughly 3 hours away as well.

MY NUTS ARE SAGGY :NOES:
;A ;

loo, I've only "modelled" a few times for my friend Madison and twice for *Jaicca . I wish I had more opportunities.

lol I'm actually not good for travelling right now, for a long time probably. I'm moving to another building soon, not far, but I also have so many things happening right now. Between schools and booked shoots (I'm actually almost full for every weekend in February right now ;; I don't do the first weekends of the month) I don't even know, we;ll have to see about it .-.

Good, I'm glad I'm not the only one lol

Ahh, the opportunities will present themselves.

No rush, I'm planning on doing this stuff for a good, long time, but if you're ever around I'll be sure to setup something - either for you in front of the lens or for you behind the lens shooting one of my regulars.

BTW, checked out Jaicca - you both did some awesome work!

Nice! Well, I am hoping to be out of the studio as much as possible in the summer (at $35 an hour, studio time isn't cheap) but I'm sure we can come up with something.
