This is particulary horrifying and really touching at the same time....it brings to mind all those poor souls who were incarcerated in "bedlam" which was the ancient insane assylum. I don't know if people ever came out of that place "cured" or even properly treated...but the title 'i was crazy once" makes me hopeful that she did come out on the other side whole.
Very thought provoking to me anyway....nice work

My grandmother was actually put into an asylum as she was schizophrenic, and the history of that particular establishment is horrifying. One of the most notorious ones in the country. It wasnt that long ago that they were still doing rather unorthodox treatments and severely mistreating the patients and as far as I know she was never "cured". Thankfully her soul is at peace now, but I very much hold the same sentiments when it comes to the "mentally ill" in that respect

Did your burn yourself? My family recently moved into our new but unfinished house and in the first weeks we didn't have any proper lamps so we used a 500 watt headlight. Ugh...

I have in the past, but thankfully not that time. I have accidentally burned a sheet on one. Was going to see if I could use a white sheet to soften the harsh light by putting it directly on the lamp (I figured it was a bad idea but didnt need the sheet) and its amazing how quickly something will catch fire with direct contact on one of those things.
