Description
Background:
Developed during the Outer Rim Civil War of 2529 to escort larger Galactic Federation of System (GFS) warships. The Everrest was named after the largest mountain on the Human home world of Earth or "Sol Prime" as it's known to outsiders.
Heavily armed, and armored, the Everrest-Class was more then capable of performing front-line duties when larger warships where not available. As example of the ship's power, during the last year of the Outer Rim Civil War, just two Everrest-Class Destroyer managed to fight, and destroy 6 enemy battleships that where roughly three times their size by using their speed, firepower, and superior crew skills to win the battle, while only suffering limited casualties between the two vessels.
By 2538, the GFS had around 10,000 in service across the Federation.
