Description Just a quick doodle dashed out watching Kamen Rider at the gaming club. Perhaps I should paint more cats.

Why, thank you <3

Her outfit is inspired by one of the later Kamen Rider series, Zio I think it was.

I really like this -- There's something about it that puts me in mind of the paintings of Reginald Marsh (which I also really like).  It has a sketchy quality, but it's also very solid.  The near-monochrome palette works to very good effect and lends a stark quality to what might otherwise be a too-sweet subject.  So I find myself taking a closer look and wanting to know more about the cat herself.  Big eyes, sharp claws, a childlike stance and a fearless gaze.  She embodies an intriguing mix of "vulnerable" and "capable" that goes well beyond the usual anime / manga tropes that I'm used to seeing.

I think more cats is an excellent idea

Have not heard the name before, but am pleased to learn. His work just might be a bit moodier, but it fits right in the era and environment where Mette and Sigsten are most active; may be good inspiration. Thanks for sharing!

My pleasure   Marsh is a bit moody and his subjects aren't always the most appealing, but he is a very good figure painter.  He was obsessed with the Renaissance and tried to bring that aesthetic into his pictures of New York lowlife...

PS: Speaking of the Japanese beastiary, saw your completed kitsune.

My jaw dropped so hard it raised a new mountain in China.

Hmm... I found this:  Siamese Cat Yummy XD

I don't know anything about  Kamen Rider... but  i think that so, you should paint more. ^.^ Cats? Yeah, also cats. But i think, nevermind what kind of animal which you paint... because we just want to enjoy your works. ^.^

I really like the colors... They say the contrast colors always good, but very important the balance... Well, here the balance is works well.  The pose and dress, that i'm love it. Heh. Very kawaii.

This remind me of a quotation: Mew Mew style, Mew Mew grace, Mew Mew power in your face! - from Tokyo Mew Mew. XD

The tree shadow is throws the background very much. ^.^ Well done.

In any case, it became a cute doodle. ^.^

Heh =^.^= Didn't have that one in particular in mind, but do fondly remember the Siamese Yummy. The outfit was based on a character from a later series - Decade, I think. I am not very familiar with the current series, but watch them with friends. Find that when I turn a blind eye to the sometimes excessive toy marketing, Japanese children's programming is often more appealing than a lot of contemporary shows intended for adults. From a Western point of view it can sometimes be difficult to tell what the target audience is - the mood and style are very similar to action/adventure series from the 80's and 90's.

Particularly enjoyed OOO and Faiz among the newer ones. The endings were fantastic.

I tend to be very selective with anime, but what I do watch, do enjoy immensely - but all the same, I rarely draw manga nor other cartoons. Occasionally ink when collaborating with friends, but that is about it. But since the character is very much a contemporary Japanese design, oversized eyes and all, figured dashing out a shot at a contemporary anime background would be appropriate. Messed up the scaling on the shadow a bit, but - considering this took 2% as long as I usually spend on a picture and contrast balance and I are still enemies - quite pleased. Not exactly Fumiko or larienne when it comes to contemporary Japanese designs, but got to start someplace.

Definitely feel like painting more cats now.
