Description Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt!

Ander is the good-two-shoes Child of Air. He pretends to be a loveable idiot but I know better: dude is the blessed heir of Ishanti and I am SO MAD about it! Godfried may be our party's leader and keep us safe from monsters, but Ander's literally a wealthy leader and powerhouse. As the son and heir of Durwood and Osai alike, he can wave his hand and command people or wave his hand and summon massive tempests to blow his rivals away. It doesn't help that he's practically my brother and more perfect in nearly every way. Life is so unfair!

I can't freakin' tell you how difficult it is to find clean shaven mages! Seriously! Every mage has a beard as long as my arm or is a woman. I thought about painting another Theurge sculpt, but I wanted everyone's mini to be very distinct on the table. The base model for Ander's mini is the "Arael" sculpt from reaper bones. I heavily modified it, though. I cut the sword off him, carved it to look like lightning, then a rotated the arm so he was holding it out instead of down. I was unhappy with the sharply painted face of the sculpt, not because the design was bad, but because my friend playing Ander is very particular about how Ander looks: Eddie Redmayne. And when I say particular, I mean it! He gets very angry at any art where Ander does not look expressly like Eddie. Fortunately, I had bought a Reaper Bones "Sajan" as an option for Godfried. Sajan has a rounded face, so I carefully sliced off Arael's face, sliced off Sajan's face, and glued Sajan's screaming mug to Araels's. I tried my best to transform the scream into a smile. The Arael sculpt has a very complicated outfit that I struggled to make sense of because the details kind of all merged together and the mold lines were difficult to discern from the bitty details of his belt/sash/armor. I ended up bungling the first paint job completely and had to remove it and restart. Getting this mini to this point was a challenge which is why I painted him very last. I haven't shown him to anyone at the table yet and I admit I'm nervous about it. I like the color scheme, but I'm still not loving the final outcome because the details just aren't good. It's too busy and not exactly what I wanted for Ander. BUT...I did get it done!
