Menacing Maw resembles a sketch made by a member of the Area Zero Expedition in the Scarlet Book.

It bears a uniquely shaped spiked mask on its head. It also creates the sound of thunder when submerging into water."

Something fishy. Now Raikou was a lot harder to design than expected. Mostly because Raikou already has a somewhat prehistoric look similar to a Sabre Tooth Tiger. So my first two attempts giving it a similar body to the other two but more hunched, looked pretty bad. I'm happy with this one, though. Going even further back in time, when most of life was water based, it draws inspiration from sharks, armoured prehistoric fish, the idea of lobe-finned fish walking on land to evolve into legged species (which is likely false) and Mesonychia, the extinct sister group of whales.

Also I gave it the Ice type, because Entei deserves to be effective, too and Paradox types make not much sense to me (plus, it's really good offensive, perfect for an apex predator).
