This is just amazing. Especially considering the media used. I've looked at this work several times but never commented; I was really just waiting until I had enough time to get everything typed out.
You reproduce the art style of the show pretty much perfectly, and embellish it beautifully. I can see at least four levels of light/shadow in there. You straddle a very fine line between gradients and the strong, solid animation-style shading the show used, but you pull it off without a hitch. It's all perfectly seamless and Suki really does seem to leap off the screen, she seems so solid.
Working in monochrome with a subject like Suki is inherently difficult, because she has so many different colors. It's intimidating to even think about how you'd even start, choosing which level of shading to represent each color. You did a great job with it, though. I even note such subtle differences in tone as the face versus the eyes! The cloth bits look like cloth, the leather sheens like leather, and the metal bits reflect light like metal. I hate working in monochrome because my shadows tend to obscure details rather than define them. Clearly you have no such problems.
Great proportions, too. I know this is pulled from a shot in "Appa's Lost Days" but again, you reproduce its basic outline and embellish the details very well. You even got her cute little "srz bzns" pout just right.
Consider framing this one. It's very strong example of your skills, and the medium.
And I'm not just saying that because I <3 Suki so much. No, really.

This is beast. For some reason I'm totally in love with the lighting on her armor.
You gotta love Suki. I mean, how many girls can scale the sheer steel wall of the Boiling Rock?
