Presented to the world
To act as a wall,
A kind of shield,
Protecting one's self
From Life's cruelty.
Not to say that everything
Is a lie,
But rather,
There's so much more there,
If only you took the time to look.
Take away the stereotypes.
The labels.
The pressures.
The defenses.
And all that remains
Is their real self.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
